Traveller

Explorers of the Veiledlands

These are humans who aren’t dead, but have crossed over to the Veiled Lands by way of a Temple. Once in the Veiled Lands, they begin to take on some of the characteristics of their respective animal. Unlike the Transcendents, they don’t fully take the form of an animal immediately. Instead, they slowly begin to display some of the most unique characteristics of the animal. For example, a human may cross over and begin to take on characteristics of an eagle. This may start as enhanced eyesight, then razor sharp talons and then great wings that unfold from his/her back. The longer a Traveler is in the Veiled Lands, the more characteristics they take on. If the Traveler, however, takes on the form of an animal completely, they will be unable to change back into their human form.

Dvari

Guardians of the Temples

As a way to regulate the inflow and outflow of people through the temples, the Dvari were established as gatekeepers. Over time, they have grown into not only the gatekeepers of the temples, but also the peacekeepers and ambassadors for the Devas throughout both the Veiled Lands and the Barelands.

Because of their devotion to spiritual purity and enlightenment, they are able to tap into veritable “super powers,” which make them extremely powerful. They are peaceful, wise and just - very much akin to the Jedi Knights in the Star Wars universe. However, even the Dvari have dissenters. The Houses of the Serpentine would be considered the “dark side” of the Dvari. Angry that the Devas seem to have more love for the people in the Barelands than the Dvari, they have taken their knowledge and perverted it with darkness.

These are humans who have led good lives, died and have transcended into the Veiled Lands. They make up the major population blocks of the Veiled Lands. Upon transcending, the Transcendents take the form of an animal, which reflects the gifts and talents they displayed in the Skinland. Typically, they have too much in-fighting to truly threaten the rest of the Veiled Lands. The various factions include:
